As the level progresses, you see the slabs slowly morph into houses and other structures, replete with furnishings. Huge robotic arms grab and move massive slabs that turn out to be part of a bunch of prefabricated buildings. There's one level that takes place in a giant manufacturing facility. The platforming always feels fresh thanks to smart level design. There are major sections of virtually every mission devoted to platforming. Wall-running is a big part of this, but it's not just short sprints from one side of a gorge to another. They aren't simply window-dressing, and they're every bit as natural in a level as they are in a multiplayer map. Not only are the core shooting mechanics tight and responsive, the campaign makes excellent use of the franchise's trademark movement controls.
